Lantern slide in color. Central image shows a man unhitching two horses from a plow. His house is visible at back left. At right, a group of men gesture to him; they each hold a gun. All figures wear 18th-century clothing. A label printed in black is applied to one end of the slide and reads, "Putnam Leaving the Plow - 1775." A label printed in black applied to the other end of the slide reads, "A.D. Handy, Stereopticons & Supplies, 21 Bromfield St., Boston." Handwritten on this label in black is "Period 1775-1782."
