a: Wooden presentation cabinet. Light colored wood stained brown with a pinkish cast. Nailed construction. Brass hinges and lock, back of lock marked "11 C 4". Two screws (likely after market) added as door stops. Upper back panel bears impressed numbers: 5342 and 15. Back legs plain, front legs/feet with slight ornamental curve. Interior divided into four compartments. One (botton) comprises half of the interior, one a quarter (top left) and the last two (top right) are each an eighth of the space. Inside of door bears scar of an element that was once attached to it. Small silver-plated engraved plaque (discolored) on the front reads: "Presented to / S. A. Dudley P. C. / By the Members of / Horace Greeley Lodge K. P. / June 4 1907" . Paper label on back reads: "Frederick W. Allen, William Paisley, / President & Treasurer, Secretary & Manager, / From ALLEN & PAISLEY CO., / Wholesale / FURNITURE. / Successors to F. W. ALLEN & Co. / SIDEBOARDS, TABLES, HALL STANDS, CHAMBER SETS, / BOOK CASES, DESKS & CHINA CLOSETS / 133-137 PORTLAND STREET / Telephone "Haymarket 642."
