Masonic York Rite Knights Templar Apron, Lewis T. Learmont. Obverse: Black velvet (likely silk) apron has shield shape overall and rounded flap, both of which are trimmed with silver metallic ribbon and silver bullion fringe. On flap, crossed swords in cast silver-colored metal are applied. On body, cast silver-colored metal skull and crossbones within delta with 12 openwork five-point stars along edge are applied. On underside of flap, four silver metal rings are sewn in to lining. Reverse: Lined with black cotton, with black manufacturer's tag sewn at top: on it is embroidered "AMES SWORD CO. / MILITARY AND / SOCIETY GOODS / CHICOPEE, MASS." in white cotton thread; below this, a stamped, silver colored metal nametag frame is sewn on with white thread; within it is an off-white piece of paper with "LEWIS T. LEARMONT" printed on in black ink. Above this, along top edge, are two silver metal brackets with silver safety pins attached. Attached to the lower part of the body, eight silver metal rings are sewn on with white thread. Length of black silk (likely) cording, with tassels at either end, sewn across top of back forms ties on either side.
