Masonic Shrine Fez, Bektash Drum Corps. Fez composed of maroon wool (likely) with a black synthetic fiber (likely) tassel. Applied to front is a Shrine emblem (scimitar, tiger claws, sphinx head, and star) surrounded by the text "BEKTASH" (above), "DRUM" (to PR), and "CORPS" (to PL). Entire composition done in iridescent, green, or red rhinestones with white plastic bezels; at center, gold-colored metal Sphinx head is decorated with yellow, red, green, and white enamel stripes. Tassel is secured to the PL side of the fez with a silver-colored metal pin with five rows of rhinestones, some colorless, others green and red. At top of fez, four sets of vent holes in concentric rings. Inside fez, red satin (likely synthetic) label sewn in has yellow rectangular manufacturer's sticker on it; it has black chevron shapes at either end and the black text, "ANTHONY NIZZARDINI / MASONIC SUPPLY CO. / 175-5th Ave. New York, N. Y. 10010 / (212) 254-6048" at its center. Brown vinyl sweatband sewn inside opening of hat. Silver-colored metal pin at top center which secures tassel.
