At center and right are other brothers standing around tracing board on floor. Below engraving in French reads title: "Assemblee de Francs-Macons, pour la Reception des Apprentiss." Below title is explanation of scene; at left and right is number key to locate various officers shown in engraving.


This is one of the earliest illustrations purporting to reveal the initiation of a Masonic candidate for the Entered Apprentice Degree. The participants stand around a tracing board on the floor. This engraving is part of a set of seven.
