Silver medal with a triangle and an eye on the top, columns topped with globes framing the sides, and scene in the middle with a checkered floor and a stand with the Bible reading "EZEK CHAP" held open by a square and compass below a circle surrounding shaking hands with the letters "K S H T W S S T." On the stand are a sword, a heart, an anchor, and a star with the letter "G" in it. The back of the medal reads, "Francois Turner / Franklin Chapt No 2. / New Haven Ct / Augst 27th 1846."


Made for Francois Turner (1803-1884), this elaborate jewel combines Turner’s mark with many other Masonic symbols. Turner joined Franklin Chapter No. 2 in New Haven in 1846. Also known as Francois Turneur de Bussey, Turner taught French at Yale and joined the Scottish Rite in 1848. Two years later he received the 33°.
