Masonic Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia Erasmus James Philipps Meritorious Service medal. Dark-colored rectangular pin with horizontal pinback. Pin has a circle at the middle with a square and compasses emblem with G in the center. Leafy branches on each side. Hanging from the pin is a blue grosgrain ribbon. Suspended from the ribbon is a round dark-colored medal with a seal in the middle on one side. Lettering along the edge reads "THE GRAND LODGE OF ANCIENT FREE & ACCEPTED MASONS OF NOVA SCOTIA." In the center on the back is a lamp above an open book. Lettering along the edge reads "FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICES RENDERED / THE ERASMUS JAMES PHILIPPS MEDAL / NOVA SCOTIA LODGE OF RESEARCH."
