Straight-backed armchair with cane seat and back. The front stretcher and the back are carved with a floral vine pattern. Grain painted in brown (not original). Silver-tone plaque applied to the back reads, "This chair was brought from England in 1723 by Henry Price the first Grand Master of Masons in America and was presented to Belmont Lodge April 7, 1898 by Miss Grace C. Foss."


Henry Price (1697-1780), the first Grand Master of Massachusetts, originally owned this chair. Passed down in his family, it was donated to Henry Price Lodge in Belmont, Massachusetts, in 1898 and then to the Grand Lodge Museum in 1930.
