Frontispiece to "Les Francs-Maçons écrasés: Suite du livre intitulé: L'ordre des Francs-Maçons" [The Freemasons Ruined]. Anti-Masonic book frontispiece engraving; outdoor 18th-century scene. In the background is a three-story classical building which appears to be falling apart due to poor workmanship and materials; in foreground are a pile of bricks and tub of mortar, and a Freemason wearing a Master's jewel who is losing both his wig and composure. Reads on bottom "S. Fokke inv. et fec. 1746."


This image is the frontispiece from "Les Francs-Maçons écrasés: Suite du livre intitulé: L'ordre des Francs-Maçons," an anti-Masonic publication by Abbé Larudan first issued in Amsterdam in 1747.
