Oval shaped Masonic medal for John Schofield, Ancient York Masons Lodge No. 169.. Medal is pierced to cut out an arrangement of Masonic tools. At center is an archway over two columns. The columns stand on mosaic pavement. Between the columns are a square and compasses with G, open book, two winged heads, three candlestands and a level. At top is a five point star flanked by a sun and a moon. Along the sides are more tools: trowel, ladder, key, maul, gauge and Euclid's 47th problem. At bottom center is a coffin and a sword. A ring is attached at top center. The tools and other elements are engraved with decorative details. Engraved at top on one side is "John Schofield." Engraved at top on the other side is "Lodge No. 169 N. York."
