Masonic Mark medal under cover glass; anchor in center, in copper color metal, sits on a round piece with "petals" folded down. Surrounded by gilt letters "HTWSSTKS." Back of silver case is engraved with initials "WB."
In the Masonic Mark Master degree, a Mason chooses a symbol to represent himself - often something that relates to his profession or a symbol from Freemasonry. Some men had these emblems made into badges that could be worn. The glass and silver case on this medal, the kind used to house watches, has protected the fragile pieces inside for about 200 years.
