Leather Masonic apron; square body and triangular flap; engraved all-seeing eye on flap; engraved and painted design on apron shows three steps, pavement, square and compasses, Bible, three candles, two columns with allegorical figures on top, sun, moon, "G" within five-point star and pair of hands, other Masonic symbols arrayed on sides and bottom. Remnants of blue silk fringe on edges.


Engraver Abner Reed produced many aprons of this design. Printed on leather or silk, and typically highlighted with paint, these aprons were worn by Freemasons in New England and New York.
