Masonic Master Mason apron with rounded body and rounded flap; has engraved designs of "Masters Apron Complete"; includes symbols of Faith, Hope and Charity, globes, columns, flooring, beehive, clasped hands, Euclid's theory, working tools; all-seeing eye on flap; engraved at bottom "Engraved by Jervis Cutler / Nashville / Dedicated to the Lodges in Tennessee"; cotton backing; pleated silk ribbon trim has faded to cream.


Born in Massachusetts, engraver Jervis Cutler, who crafted this apron, lived in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New England, Louisiana and Tennessee. He joined a Masonic lodge in Ohio in 1803. He took his interest and knowledge of Freemasonry with him as he moved to different communities. In addition to this apron, he also engraved illustrations for a Masonic handbook.
