Book of Marks, or design registration record of King Hiram Royal Arch Chapter, Greenwich Village, MA; 52 pages, each with the outline of a keystone, the symbol associated with the Mark Master Degree (4th Degree in York Rite Freemasonry); the circular center of each keystone is bordered by the letters H.T.W.S.S.T.K.S. and filled with a unique device or Mark chosen by members at the time of their initiation into the Mark master Degree; each design has the owner's name within it; each device or Mark is painted in watercolor.


This book contains fifty-two different members' marks from the King Hiram Royal Arch Chapter in Greenwich Village, Massachusetts. Members' self-describing symbols range from figures representing the virtues of charity or peace, to family coats of arms, to two doves selected by a man named Allen Wing.
