Silver presentation pitcher with round footed base and scroll handle. Gadrooned rim and chased acanthus decoration. Additional bands of decoration around the neck and the base show flowering vines with thistles. Stamped maker's mark appears twice on the bottom reading, "B.C. Frobisher." On the front is an incised heart shape engraved, "To / Benja. Smith Esq. / From the Members / of / St. Andrews Lodge / Jany. 1832."

Benjamin Smith was raised a Master Mason in St. Andrew's Lodge in the early 1790s. He later served the lodge as Senior Warden from 1813 to 1815. Lodge records show that Smith was "presented at Concert Hall, with silver pitcher for long and valuable services" on January 31, 1832. These records also note that the "death of Bro. Ben. Smith was announced" on September 11, 1834. St. Andrew's Lodge and Grand Lodge of Massachusetts records show that Smith served on various committees to oversee meeting places.
