Masonic Scottish Rite Rose Croix apron. Square body with triangular flap. Cream silk borders have been attached to the edges of the apron and it has been attached to a stretcher. The apron is cream silk. The flap is embroidered with gold and cream glory rays around a central circle. Inside the circle is a triangle or delta with Hebrew characters. Six blue circles are embroidered along the top of the flap. The body shows a central scene with a mother pelican pecking her breast to feed her children with her own blood. The birds are painted in white and gray. The bird nest is embroidered in yellow and gold. Behind the pelican is a gold Christian cross with painted label at top "INRI." To one side is a painted and embroidered sun and to the other side is a painted and embroidered moon. Along the bottom are four figures with painted faces and arms and embroidered clothing. From left is a knight, a woman in a robe holding a Christian cross (Faith), a woman in a toga holding an anchor (Hope), and a woman with three children (Charity) - two are nursing at her breasts. In the foreground are two columns in the process of being built and several Masonic tools.
