Bragg, New York, New York A2016/009 In 1845, members of the Supreme Council of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction elected John Christie to join the group at a meeting called especially for the purpose. At the time the Scottish Rite was small and its governing body, the Supreme Council, numbered under ten. Rather than issuing a printed certificate to Christie, the Council marked the occasion with a special document written and decorated entirely by hand by Isaac F. Bragg, a professional calligrapher and writing instructor.
