Independent Order of Odd Fellows Daughters of Rebekah No. 57 jewel for Mary E. Howe. Silver jewel with horizontal pinback. Front of pin is shaped like a banner and engraved "Mary E. Howe." At top center is a scrolling decoration. Suspended from the pin by two chains is a three-link chain. Suspended from this by two chains is an round openwork medallion with a five-point star and bird in the middle. Engraved along the circle are seven stars, a foral sprig, a woman carring water buckets on a yolk, a beehive and "No. 57."


To fully understand and appreciate Freemasonry in America, the Museum collects objects and documents associated with all types of fraternal organizations. This Daughters of Rebekah jewel was presented to Mary E. Howe in commemoration of her service as an officer of her lodge.
