Masonic Senior Deacon (possibly) Apron with false flap; white silk apron with bright blue silk ruffled fringe and ties; gold metallic edging; engraved printed All-Seeing Eye on flap; on apron are engraved printed square and compasses with sunburst in middle suspeneded from ribbon (possibly Senior Deacon's Jewel); sprigs of acacia at bottom; reverse stamped manufacturer mark and address. On reverse: "17" and maker's stamp: "From / A. W. Pollard / Court Street / Boston" and in ink: "Charles Harris. / Amicable Lodge / 1855."

Although this printed silk apron bears an image of the jewel of a Senior Deacon, an officer in a Masonic lodge, the design was likely used more broadly, by Master Masons and by other lodge officers. Abner Pollard, the regalia manufacturer who sold this apron, supplied aprons used at many lodges in Massachusetts, including lodges in Cambridge, Andover, Dorchester, and the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Massachusetts in Boston.
