In two pieces: Sixth-plate ambrotype showing African American man wearing Kossouth style hat, Masonic sash and apron, and what appears to be an Independent Order of Odd Fellows collar. The apron has a square and compasses symbol with "G" on the body, also stars. These symbols are tinted gold on the photograph.


This unidentified Freemason wears regalia consisting of a collar, sash, and apron. His apron is decorated with a square, compasses, the letter G, and other Masonic symbols.
