Studio group portrait photograph of the West Lynn Independent Order of Odd Fellows baseball team; team consists of ten players wearing light gray uniforms with team jerseys marked "West Lynn" above three links symbol of the Odd Fellows; two managers in street clothes; crossed bats, gloves and baseballs in foreground; on bottom margin card impressed "Wires / 189 Broad St. / Lynn, Mass."

This portrait of nine baseball players and two managers shows either members of the West Lynn Odd Fellows Lodge who formed a team, or players on a team sponsored by the lodge. In the early 1900s many people in the Boston area took part in the thriving amateur and semi-professional baseball scene as athletes and as fans. In the same era, the town of West Lynn boasted its own dedicated baseball grounds—a testament to the popularity of the sport in that community.
