Studio portrait of unidentified elderly bearded man, standing, wearing Masonic regalia that includes a sash, square Master's "jewel", dark (red?) apron with applique symbols of Royal Arch, dove, cock, plumb, cross, skull and crossbones, square and compasses; on the flap a Pentalpha, all-seeing eye, and crescent moon with seven stars. In his hand he holds a chapeau-de-bras. The quarter-plate tintype image is mounted in a gilt pressed-copper foil frame.
