Cased tintype in two pieces with double enclosure. a: Tintype touched with gold and pink accents of bearded man in Masonic apron and sash (right side of case). b: Tintype of woman and infant, touched with gold and pink accents (left side of case).

These cased tintypes show a woman with a baby and a man wearing a sash and a Masonic apron. Together, these images likely depict a family. For their portraits to make a good impression, members of this family wore their most fashionable clothing. After the portraits were taken, the photographer highlighted the woman's brooch and the decoration on the man's sash and apron with gold paint.
