Sepia-tone carte-de-visite photograph mounted on green cardboard. There is a backdrop with archway and tree; there is a table on one side with a plant on top. On the other side is a table or stand covered with a cloth; the subject rests one hand on top. He wears a dark hat with a shield-shaped emblem on the front. He has a mustache and wears a long dark coat with dark pants. The coat has shoulder patches and he wears dark cuffs that also have a shield-shaped emblem on them. He wears a fraternal striped sash with a triangle pin or badge and a sword belt. His sword hangs on one side from the belt. The back is green and is printed with black text, "Otto H.
