Sepia-toned carte-de-visite photograph of unidentified Masonic Knights Templar member. Full-length portrait of a man with mustache and beard standing and wearing a dark frock coat and pants, dark shoes, and Knights Templar fatigue hat, sash or baldric, gauntlets, and belt. His frock coat has five buttons, and a black epaulet with a white border on his left shoulder. His fatigue hat is black, with a white cross on the front. His gauntlets are white, with a cross on each cuff. His sash is also white, with a black border, and a star with an indeterminate number of points. His belt is black, with an oval buckle, and a sword attached to the belt on his left. The man is resting his left elbow on the newel post of a handrail that extends outside the image. There is a gilt, double-lined border around the front edge of the CDV. Printed in black on the back is "Mead. / Photographer / 332 Grand St. / Williamsburgh, L.I." There are also two illegible characters handwritten in pencil on the back.
