Black and white carte-de-visite photograph of unidentified man in Masonic York Rite Knights Templar regalia. Full-length view of man standing on a patterned carpet. At his left is a banister with balusters. His black chapeau-de-bras sits on the banister. It has a plume on top and a Templar cross on the side. The subject has a mustache and wears a dark coat, dark trousers, white shirt, fringed apron with delta on flap and skull and crossbones, coffin and crossed swords on body. He wears a sword belt with a sword at his side and a sash with additional symbols. Printed on back is "Rockwell & Cowell, / Photographers, / Petersburg, / Va. / Negatives retained for future copies / No."
