Sepia-toned Masonic carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of man standing and wearing a gray coat and pants, black shoes, white shirt, black necktie, belt, and Knights Templar apron, sash or baldric, and gauntlets. Gauntlets are white, with a cross on each. Sash or baldric is black, with white borders, a cross, and a nine-pointed star. Apron is triangular in shape. It is black, with white borders, and crossed swords on the flap; below the flap is a skull and crossbones. The man is carrying a sword on the left side of his belt and holding a chapeau in his right hand, which he is resting atop a rail post. The chapeau is gray, with black and white feathers and a rosette-like badge. Around the photograph is a single gold line; the edges of the carte-de-visite are rounded. The back of the CDV is a peach color, white the text "Moore Brothers" printed in red in the center. Additional text is printed in red within a rectangular frame; clockwise from the bottom edge: " Established 1857 / Photographic gallery and studio / Duplicates furnished / Opposite Court Square, Springfield, Mass."
