Sepia-toned Masonic carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of unidentified man wearing black coat and pants, lighter shoes, Masonic sash and apron, and Past Master's jewel. Sash is composed of one light and two dark stripes, as well as fringes on both sides. Apron has several Masonic symbols, including a Past Master's emblem on the flap. There are fringes along both the flap and the bottom edge of the apron. Man is resting his left arm on two drawers atop a table. To his left, along the right edge of the photograph, there is a curtain with three tassels hanging down. Handwritten in pencil on the back: "ED [illeg.] / Scottish Past / Master of Blue Lodge." Printed in brown on the back is "W.J. Hogg / Photographer, / 73 Great Hamilton St. / Glasgow. / Copies may be had."
