Sepia-toned Masonic Knights Templar carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of a man with mustache and beard standing and wearing a gray frock coat, black pants and shoes, white shirt, dark necktie, belt, and Knights Templar gauntlets, apron, and sash or baldric. His gauntlets are white, with a cross on each. His sash is black, with a white border, a seven-pointed star, and a Maltese cross. His apron is also black, with a white border, a skull and crossbones; and on the flap, crossed swords. He has a sword hanging from his belt by his left side, and a tassel by his right gauntlet. To his right is a padded chair with a fringed seat cushion. The man's chapeau-de-bras is on the seat cushion. The chapeau-de-bras is black, with a cross emblem on the side, and black feathers on top. Printed in black on the back is "Milton T. Carter, / Photographer, / Corner of Main and Park Streets, / Worcester, Mass." Handwritten in blue ink on the back is "Francis Stiles Grandfather."
