Sepia-toned Masonic Knights Templar / Scottish Rite carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of a man with mustache and beard standing. He is wearing a black, double breasted frock coat; black pants, black shoes, and Knights Templar gauntlets and sword belt. His gauntlets are white, with a cross on each. His sword belt is black, with an elliptical buckle; a sword hangs from the belt on the man's left. The man's frock coat has an epaulette on the left shoulder. He is holding his chapeau-de-bras in his left hand; it is black, with white feathers. His right hand is resting atop an ornate table with a lion's head motif on it. Handwritten in black in below the photograph is "[illeg]. R. [illeg] 32º." Printed in blue beneath is "Copelin & Son Chicago, Ill." Handwritten in pencil on the back is "Knights Templar." Printed in black on the back is "Copelin, / 244 West Washington Street, Chicago."
