Man has both mustache and beard. Collar is dark, with a lighter border and fringe; collar is decorated with various fraternal symbols, including an eight-pointed star. Two tassels hang from its clasp. Subject is seated on a chair with leather cushions on the seat and the back. Below the image is handwritten in black ink "Fraternally yours, Thos Scott."
