Sepia-toned Masonic Knights Templar carte-de-visite photograph. Three-quarter length portrait of a man with mustache and beard wearing a black coat and pants, white shirt, bow tie, and fraternal belt, gauntlets, chapeau-de-bras, and sash or baldric. Belt has a rectangular metal buckle with a cross. Gauntlets are both white, with a cross emblem on each cuff. Sash or baldric is white, with an eight-pointed star medallion. The man has a ribbon and four medals pinned to his coat; two of the medals are cross-like in shape, a third has a bell shape, and the fourth is a star or rosette with a finial extending from the bottom. His chapeau is black, with black and white feathers and a cross emblem on the side. The man is also holding a sword with both hands; the sword is connected to his belt or his sash by a chain. Printed in black on the back is "Fernando / Dessaur. / 551 8th Avenu [cut off] / Bet. 37th & 38th S [ cut off] / NEW YO [cut off]."
