Sepia-toned Masonic Knights Templar carte-de-visite photograph. Nearly full length portrait of a seated man with a mustache and mutton chops. The man is wearing a dark, double-breasted frock coat, dark pants, a white shirt, and Knights Templar sash or baldric, belt, and gauntlets. His gauntlets are white, with a cross on each. His sash is also white, wit ha black border and a nine-pointed star. His belt is black, with a rectangular buckle with a Maltese cross. The man is holding his sword across his lap with his right hand. His chair has fringes along both the seat and the arm. Directly behind the man, to his left, is a table, with his chapeau-de-bras on top. His chapeau-de-bras is black, with a Maltese cross emblem, and black and white feathers on top. The CDV has been trimmed at all four corners. Printed in blue on the back is "J.H. Clark, / Photographer, / 101 Canal Street, / New Orleans." Handwritten in pencil on the back is "CO[illeg]."
