Sepia-toned Masonic Knights Templar carte-de-visite photograph. Three-quarter length portrait of man wearing black overcoat and pants, white shirt, black necktie, and Knights Templar chapeau-de-bras, sash or baldric, and belt. Chapeau-de-bras is black, with black and white feathers; there is an illegible badge or emblem on the side. Sash or baldric is white, with a nine-pointed star badge with a cross inside it. Belt is black, with a rectangular buckle with a cross. The man is holding a white gauntlet in his right hand, which has a cross printed on it. On his left side, he is carrying a sword in an ornately decorated scabbard. His left hand is behind his back. Printed in black on the back is "Evans & Prince, / Photographers, / York, PA. / No.," followed by the number "9865" handwritten in pencil.
