Black and white Masonic Knights Templar carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of a bearded man wearing a black frock coat, pants, and shoes; white shirt, belt, patterned bow tie or scarf; and Knights Templar apron, sash or baldric, tricorne hat, and gauntlets. Apron has a rounded triangular shape; it is black, with white borders and fringes. On the flap, there are two five-pointed stars and a triangle with crossed swords or staves. The body of the apron features a triangle with a skull and crossbones inside, with two crosses on top. There is another undetermined symbol below the endpoint of the triangle. The sash is black, with a white border and fringe; it has a cross, a nine-pointed star, and a rooster, all within a rope pattern. The gauntlets are black, with white cuff borders; each cuff has a cross inside a wreath. The tricorne hat is also black, with white trim on the brim, and a black feather; there is a cross emblem on the front of the hat. The man is holding a sword in his right hand, which is touching the ground. He also has another sword hanging to his left from his belt. Behind the man is a wood chair with a seat cushion, and a table with an ornate decorative tablecloth. On the far left side of the image, there is a floral curtain above a pedestal; both are cut off in this photograph. The left and right edges of the CDV are trimmed irregularly. The back of the CDV is entirely blank.
