This Civil War envelope depicts presidential (John Bell) and vice presidential (Edward Everett) candidates of the Constitutional Union Party. The word "Traitor" has been stamped over John Bell's image. The word "Patriot" been stamped over Edward Everett's image. A Union flag with a liberty cap on the flag pole appears at the bottom of the portraits. Forms part of the William Caleb Loring illustrated envelope collection.
