This pro-Confederate envelope depicts the seven star secession flag and bears the names of Jeff Davis and Alexander H. Slephens. The Confederacy used the seven-star flag as its national flag from March 4, 1861 until May 21, 1861. Forms part of the William Caleb Loring illustrated envelope collection.
