Black-and-white stereophotograph or stereocard mounted on a yellow card showing two trees standing in front of a waterfall. The tree on the left is bare, with snow covering its branches. The tree to the right still has a lot of leaves or needle, as well as some snow. Both trees are on a lighter-colored piece of land than the land which abuts the waterfall in the background. There are also some unidentifiable buildings far in the background. The number "1782" is printed in black in the bottom left corner of the right image. There is no other text on the front of this card. A rectangular label made of white paper is affixed to the back of the card, roughly in the center. Printed in black on this label is "Niagara in Winter. / No 1782. / American Fall, from Luna Island. / Published by E. & H. T. Anthony & Co., / American and Foreign Stereoscopic Emporium, 501 Broadway, New York." There is a yellow-orange 2-cent tax stamp affixed upside-down to the back of the card. The stamp partially covers the label. The text on the stamp reads "U.S. Inter. Rev. / Two / Cents / Proprietary." The stamp has a picture of George Washington in the center, and has a black x-shaped cancellation mark on it.
