Sepia-toned carte-de-visite photograph, with red tinting. Full length portrait of a man wearing a black coat and pants, black bow tie, white shirt, black shoes, and red-tinted sash and apron; regalia of the Imporved Order of Red Men. Sash is red, with a white border and a five-pointed star near the shoulder. Apron is red, with a five-pointed star in the middle, and a white border with a fringe along the bottom edge. The man is standing in front of a wall, with his right arm resting on a rectangular podium. Printed in black on the back is "James G.
