Black-and-white stereocard photograph mounted on an orange card, showing a train track crossing over a valley in the mountains. The track curves from the lower left corner of each image toward the upper right quadrant. In the process, the track crosses over trestles and a bridge. The landscape around the track and the bridge is mountainous, and is scattered with trees and other vegetation. Printed in black on the front of the card is "Central Pacific Railroad. / Thomas Houseworth & Co., / San Francisco. / 1238. The Trestle Bridge at Long Ravine - 878 / feet long, and 120 feet high, looking East." The back of the card is pinkish-purple. Handwritten on the back of the card is "FLS."
