Sepia-toned fraternal carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of man with beard standing and wearing black coat, pants, and shoes; gray shirt, and fraternal collar and apron. Collar is black with white borders, four five-pointed stars, and one flower-like six-pointed star. Apron is white, with dark borders along the edges of the flap and the body; it also has a fringe along the bottom. Man is resting his left hand on the base of a white column; the column has floral drapery higher up. Carte-de-visite has a gilt, double lined border. Printed in black on the back is "Photographed by / J.T. Huntington." Also on the back are three carmine-colored one cent tax stamps. Each of the stamps has a picture of George Washington and the text "U.S. Inter. Rev. / One / Cent / Proprietary." Each of the stamps also bears a diagonal black cancellation mark.
