Black-and-white stereophotograph or stereocard mounted on a yellow card showing a parade on a city street. There are several buildings on the right side of the street, mostly in the Federal or Neoclassical style. A sign atop one building reads "Optici [covered] / 518"; the building directly behind it has a sign on top with the name "Carter." Printed in black on the front of the card is "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1865, by E. & H. T. Anthony & Co. in Clerk's Office of the District Court of the U.S. for So. Dis. of New-York." A rectangular label made of white paper is affixed to the back of the card, roughly in the center. Printed in black on this label is "Anthony's Instantaneous Views, / No. 2958. / The Funeral of President Lincoln, New-York, April 25th, 1865. / Copyright Secured. / Published by E. & H. T. Anthony & Co. / American and Foreign Stereoscopic Emporium, 501 Broadway, New York." Handwritten in pencil near the top left corner of this label is "EHD." There is a yellow-orange 2-cent tax stamp affixed upside-down to the back of the card. The stamp partially covers the aforementioned rectangular label. The text on the stamp reads "U.S. Inter. Rev. / Two / Cents /Proprietary". The stamp has a picture of George Washington in the center, and has a black x-shaped cancellation mark on it.
