In this letter to Columbian Lodge’s Secretary, William Martin, Colonel William M. Fleming seeks to pay his outstanding dues and seeks to be reinstated as a member in good standing. Fleming, who was a well-known actor and theater manager prior to the war, would die on May 7, 1866, from injuries received during General William Tecumseh Sherman’s Georgia campaign (1864-1865).
