Sepia-toned photograph of a printed Masonic chart, mounted on card. The chart has a sawtooth border with tassels (or cable tow?) in the corners. The central element is a circle with an arrangement of Masonic symbols inside. At the center is a delta, or triangle, with G in the middle. This is on top of a leg that is on top of a column. A hand reaches out from each side of the leg. The one on the right rests on a square and compasses on top of an open book; the one on the left holds compasses. There is a coffin at bottom center and a three-armed candlestick at top with a five-point star. Other symbols inside the circle include a sword, a lamp, a heart with flame, a Masonic apron, a trowel and a cable tow. Flanking the central circle are two columns, each with a globe on top. At top center is an all-seeing eye above a ladder and the number three. Below the ladder is a beehive and an ark. Symbols along the left side of the chart include a level, a square, and a smooth ashlar; symbols along the right side include a skirret, compasses, a plumb, Euclid's 47th problem, an ear and rough ashlar. Along the bottom of the image are a broken column, a scythe, a skull and crossbones, an anchor and an hourglass. A signature appears at the bottom left corner of the image, reading, "W. Carey. Aberdeen / Decr. 1866."
