a: Masonic Scottish Rite Northern Masonic Jurisdiction 33rd Degree jewel; jewel has a circle formed in the shape of a snake holding its tail; has cross and 9-pointed star with emblem at center. Words circling around center say: "Ordo Ab Chao." Double-headed eagle at center. Blue, red and white enameling. At top is pin badge with purple ribbon (front is faded) and gold metal triangle saying: "Deputy for Mass" in triangle form. Engraved on the back is "Benjamin Dean / 33º / SGIG / Active Member / Supreme Council / Northn. Mas. Jur. / U.S.A. / May 17, 1867." b: silk and velvet lined hinged case.
