Sepia-toned Masonic carte-de-visite photograph. Three-quarter length portrait of man with beard and mustache wearing black coat and pants, white shirt, bow tie, and Masonic collar and apron. Collar has six five-pointed stars and a white fringe. Apron is also fringed, and has an all-seeing eye on the flap, and several Masonic symbols on the body, including a Past Master's emblem, a Sun, and a Moon. To the man's left is a rail; to his right is a pedestal, with a black tasseled curtain hanging over it. Photograph is bordered by a single line. Handwritten in pencil just outside of the photograph, along the right edge is "E E 3." An "A" is written in pencil on the back, near the upper right corner. Also handwritten in pencil on the back is "Probably Past / Master in / ornate apron / circa 1866-70."
