Sepia-toned Masonic Knights Templar carte-de-visite photograph. Full length seated portrait of a man with mustache wearing a dark, buttoned frock coat and pants; dark shoes, and Knights Templar gauntlets, belt, and sash or baldric. His gauntlets are white, with a cross on each. His belt has a round buckle, and a Maltese cross medallion hanging from it by his left side. His sash is white, with a black border, and a nine-pointed star with a cross inside. The man is holding his sword in his left hand. He is sitting on a wooden chair with a seat cushion. His right hand rests on a decorative table, which his chapeau-de-bras lies upon. The chapeau-de-bras is black, with a cross emblem or badge on the side, and black and white feathers on top. Handwritten in black ink on the back is "Edward Woodman / Husband of / Maria Barnes." Printed in black on the back is "H.W. Oliver, / Over 77 & 79 James St., / Rome, N.Y."
