Black-and-white stereocard photograph mounted on an orange card, showing four children; two girls and two boys. One of the girls is seated and is holding a baby doll. She has a blanket over her lap. She is wearing a dress with a triangular collar, a bonnet, a necklace, white stockings, and dark shoes. To her left, there is a carved wooden bed with white linens. There is a boy sitting to her right; he is wearing a military jacket, black pants and shoes, and a wig. Another boy is standing behind and between the two aforementioned children. He is wearing a dark jacket, vest, and pants, and a black three-cornered hat. There is another girl standing to the right of the seated boy; she is wearing a white dress with a floral pattern, a bonnet, white stockings, and white shoes. There is a framed landscape painting behind the standing boy. In the top right corner of each image, there is a dark, patterned curtain. In only the right image in the photograph, there is a second curtain on the left side, behind the standing girl. Printed in white along the bottom edge of the left image is "3199. Young Mother." Printed in black on the front of the card is "Union View Co., Publishers, / Rochester, N.Y. / English Group Series". The back of the card is pinkish-purple and blank; the back edges are faded.
