Black-and-white stereophotograph or stereocard mounted on an orange card showing a boy seated on a chair, with a girl standing behind, with her arms around him. The boy is holding an open book in his lap, as if he is reading to the girl. He is wearing a wig, a military style jacket, black pants, and black shoes. The girl is wearing a white dress with dark trim, and a three-cornered hat. They are in an ornately decorated room, with a Middle Eastern carpet on the floor. There is a floral arrangement behind and to the left of the two children. The floral arrangement is also behind a table with an urn atop it, and in front of a mirror. Directly behind the children, there is a fireplace, with an ornate fringe on the mantel, along with two candelabras, a clock, a figurine, and a ceramic vessel - possibly a soup tureen. Two framed landscapes hang from the wall above the fireplace. In the left image, there is a table visible to the right of the fireplace, which is covered with a white tablecloth. Printed in white along the bottom edge of the left image is "3185. The Love Story." Printed in black on the front of the card is "Union View Co., Publishers, / Rochester, N.Y. / Group Series." The back of the card is pinkish-purple and blank; the back edges are faded.
