Sepia-toned Masonic carte-de-visite photograph. Full length portrait of a man wearing dark coat and pants, lighter shirt and shoes, bow tie, and apron. Apron is white, and hand painted with Masonic symbols including two towers and a checkerboard design. Man's right hand is inside his coat; his left forearm rests on an ornately decorated pedestal. To the right of the man is a fringed chair. Handwritten in pencil on the back is "Note hand D / painted Masonic / apron / c 1870." Printed in blue on the back is "MV / Fotogra [illeg.] / [illeg.]."
